Hello, my name is Jon Cole; I’m an easy going, down to earth and caring person who sets out to provide my clients with only the best. I’m a perfectionist by nature; this is clearly manifested in my work and the way I run my business.

 I own SoundVoid.  I have a Foundation Degree & BA Honours Degree in Stage Management & Technical Theatre (2007-2011)

I have worked for Bourne Leisure at Butlins Skegness, as a Sound Engineer (mainly working as a monitor engineer.) This post has provided me with many training opportunities and experience to a high skill & professional level. Whilst working for Butlins Skegness I have been provided with the opportunity to work in a wide range of large venues providing top quality sound, video, lighting and Pyro’s for a wide range of professional acts, such as; Danyl Johnson, Amethyst, Les Gibson, Stavros Flatley, Super-Slam Wrestling, Rat-Pack, Dr & The Medics, Heaven 17, Ronan Parke & Braniac Live.

I have also worked behind the scenes putting up set’s etc. I have gained a lot of professional contacts and offers of work from the acts that I have worked with at Butlins Skegness. I have found my experience of  Butlins very rewarding & satisfying, and this job has provided me with a good circle of networking and I have learnt a lot from them.  

What started out as an interest /hobby, which sometimes turned into sheer frustration when I saw badly set up/operated sound, video & lighting rigs at the many events I attended. This gave me a passion to learn how to professionally provide excellent quality sound, lighting & live video systems at a wide range of events.

I have one aim and that is to provide professional sound, lighting, video and staging equipment, for hire or installation, along with a professional and friendly service at an affordable price to the everyday person and not just the large multi-millionaire companies. From a simple PA hire or small lighting system to a full music festival stage with moving lights and a powerful sound system in any indoor or outdoor event.

I have been a free-lance Sound, Video & Lighting Engineer since 2005, during which I have acquired many tricks of the trade including how to solder cables back together to the placement of speakers at different events depending on the dimensions of the brickwork of each room to ensure the best possible sound quality. I maintain a lot of my own equipment which has provided me with the knowledge of  basic electrics & joinery.

I drive a 3.5 Tonne Van. I would like to upgrade my Driving license to have a 7.5 Tonne (C) Vehicles license so that as my career expands so can my Van.

I have Excellent communication skills, organisation and time management skills. I work well as part of a team as well as independently. I also have the ability to assert my own unique styles and idea’s when appropriate.

I run my business professionally and I am able to undertake, finance and business acumen in an effort to transform my innovations into economic goods. I am registered as self-employed with HM Revenue & Customs and I have my own public liability insurance. I also own a clean UK driving licence and a full CRB check.

We offer a wide range of services, including PA hire, lighting hire, stage hire, live video systems (AV) sound and light engineering, installations, consultancy service and sales and we work all over the UK.
